Boombox for iPad Tablet Very nice.

Very nice., This device sounds surprisingly good, of course this is subjective. If you have a tube amplifier in your den then this device will sound like junk however, if you've heard some of these other devices at a brick and mortar store you will appreciate the sound. The reasons I purchased this unit (as a gift) are as follows:

Easily portable (lightweight sits on the mantel, kitchen counter or in the grass)
Rechargeable batteries (I'm not sure they are easily serviceable though)
Remote control (decent range 20ft is the furthest I've tested)
Has an FM Tuner!
The sound has a nice range (I doubt it's loud enough for a party outside however decent enough to entertain a few guest in your kitchen and family room) No booming bass if you're looking for that check out (Kicker iK501 Digital Stereo).

Now what I don't like about is that old school antennae which is destined to break. They should have used a rubber antennae.

I purchased this from Amazon.
Booming Boombox, (What's this?) A highly functional, sleek system that is a natural addition to your ipad. Would recommend to anyone. Great addition to your kitchen or outdoor patio areas.

Bose Wave Music System - Graphite Gray Big bad bass

Big bad bass, I got this radio/cd player for my wife who is the primary listener. She seems to like it, but I am hard of hearing and don't like it at all. There is no way to alter the bass/treble of the sound, and as delivered the bass is very strong. I like to listen to voice radio and because the radio is so bass-heavy I cannot understand what is being said; it's all mooshy. Likewise, the bass "thump, thump, thumps" in popular music overwhelm the melody. But my wife, whose hearing is better than I'd like it to be, thinks it's fine.
Great Product!!, (What's this?) The Bose Wave Music system is everything it advertised. The sound is superior and amazing for something so small. I couldn't be more pleased. I probably would have gone with a lighter color though if I had to do it over again.
At Last, a Radio for Audiophobes,, . . . . by which I mean those who love music but hate all the gadgetry inherent to most audio systems. For decades, I have listened to my beloved classical radio station through a couple of different inherited stereo systems, each hooked to large speakers by wires trailing into the corners of my living room. Both sets were black, and located on low shelves inside an entertainment cabinet. The print that differentiated all the dozens of buttons, slides, and knobs on these systems was pale grey, and they were all difficult to see and read. For crying out loud, all I wanted to do is listen to the radio, not grope around on my knees with a flashlight and magnifying glass trying to turn the systems on and make them work. It was difficult to even see or feel the right button to push to merely turn these systems on and off. Most recently, the music that came out of the speakers sounded like a mouse orchestra playing on walnut shell violins into a tin can microphone run with tiny strings to the speakers. So, it was time for a new radio.

Although this radio/CD player is ridiculously expensive, you get what you pay for. I like that it is made in the USA, even if of imported components. You pull it out of the box, plug it in, turn it on, and it plays, beautifully. The sound is fabulous. It was even easy to program it to play my station when I turn off a CD. I do wish there were control buttons on the unit itself, even on the back, in case the remote fails. I suppose that I couldn't use my flatscreen TV without the remote, either, and it will probably never be a problem.
Refused to play new CDs out of the box second day onwards, (What's this?) I had read a lot about how great the Bose wave music system is and since ordering it on amazon I was waiting in anticipation. The product arrived one afternoon and it didnt take me a long time to set it up. Everything seemed perfect the first evening. I played a whole range of music: some ghazal music, rock, pop, instrumental, Indian classical concerts etc. The sound was great and the ambience matched my anticipation. I went to bed that night a content man.

The next morning was a shocker!! I tried to play CDs but my new Bose system would refuse to play any of the CDs I inserted. To be precise, it would play one track or a couple and then show error message and stop. I tried to play new CDs I had bought from BestBuy recently, CDs I had for a long time, or even CDs I had played to my satisfaction the night before. The same routine continued -- it would play one track or two and stop to show error message. I was stunned when it started doing this to new CDs out of the box. I did not play a single CD that I had burnt mp3 files onto.
Bose Wave Radio, (What's this?) My husband is really enjoying his Bose Wave System. It is able to pick radio stations very well especially in this area. Beautiful sound.
Bose Wave Music System, (What's this?) The music system I received for my wife's Christmas present exceeded our expectations. The product quality is superb and the shipping was very timely. I would highly recommend this system to anyone that has a love for music. They will not be disappointed. I really believe they will be ecstatic.
Bose Radio, (What's this?) We love the Bose Radio system and it has excellent sound quality, the remote is great, and it is our 3rd one, so we are dedicated users of the Bose Radio.
Bose Wave music System, (What's this?) After shopping a dozen stores and listening to who knows how many systems, large and small, I found the Bose Wave Music system to be in a class by itself. Yes, it is expensive, but the sound quality makes it well worth the price. The sound fills the room, and spills into neighboring rooms in a magnificent manner.
Good guy to deal with, (What's this?) Glenn is a good guy to deal with! The problem with my order is corrected, and I would be glad to business Glenn again.
Fantastic Product, (What's this?) A great product for quality music lovers. Awesome sound quality with minimal structure size. Delivery was within time and product performs as expected.
Though after a month's usage, I face a small issue. The battery of remote control seems to be dying out. Surprised me as remote usage was absolutely minimal...

Pyle Home PHSI50B 300 Watts High Performance 2.1-Channel iPod/iPhone Home Music System with Built-In AM/FM Clock Radio a years use and pumpin

Not a great speaker for IPHONE, (What's this?) I just purchased this pyle home 300 watts and i connected my iphone to it the distortion is kind of high. The bass is so wonderful very impressive but the highs are low it might be good with ipod or mp3 but not with IPHONE.
a years use and pumpin, I'm PISSED!!!I paid double for this a year ago. I shoulda checked around first but did not..shouda couda....anyway..I had it a while and don't regret buying it.
Let me tell you it's big so be prepared.
Okay..looking at it you can tell the builds solid, maybe overkill...i have no fear in it breaking down, after a year, still blowing my hair back!!!
    Looks and works fantastic.
Some things it gets right, and some things are just wrong..., (What's this?)
basically a full featured docking amp.,
    Iphone dock, (What's this?)
ROCKS!!!, Love I can wake up to my music from My ipod in the morning. This is a sweet system, it rocks! The speakers, 2 high 1 sub sound incredible, the sub POUNDS! This is the coolest docking station- music system I have ever owned.
"junk" would be a compliment..., (What's this?) I ordered this based on others' high reviews, but found that the bass was terrible at even low levels... the set would start shaking and thumping. Perhaps mine was defective? And there seemed to be some kind of constant feedback occurring while playing my ipod. I bought this to replace an iHome alarm clock that my kids had broken, and wanted something with a little more volume, to use in the kitchen/family room area, and while this had volume, the iHome quality was far, far better. I don't care how much I have to pay in return shipping, this piece of junk is going back.
Super system, I liked the price most of all. The main reason for my purchase was the need for an alarm clock, but when i saw this whole system, i had to have it. This is much more than a alarm clock let me tell you. It is a home entertainment system! Looks absolutely outstanding, and sounds incredible.

Marantz NA7004 Network Audio Player (Black)

24bit 192kHz support, Actually J.White, it does decode 24bit 192kHz via digital in. It's the USB input that is limited to 24bit 96kHz so you should be able to enjoy your 24 192kHz music files.

    [...
Was about to purchase, but....., No Wi-fi? Really? What was Marantz thinking? I just took it for granted that it did (silly me), it's called a "Network Audio Player" after all, until I dug further. Also, no Rhapsody support? I've got both these features on my all of my cheapo squeezebox gear. Don't tell me that this is a higher end product and that wi-fi is not conducive to streaming audio for audophiles...
Use J-River Media Player Software instead of iTunes, There is a very good review of this product in the latest issue of Sound and Vision magazine. If you want FLAC then J River Media Player is available to accommodate you. I actually have the media player and it is excellent. Not only will it play FLAC but anything iTunes can throw at you as well.

If you need to rip your cd collection then there is an excellent program known as dbpoweramp. It is much faster than iTunes ripper and has a equally accurate error correcting program.

The absence of Wi-Fi could be overcome by extending your network using an access point and connecting your Marantz NA7004 via an ethernet cable. You get network connectivity and a stronger network signal as a bonus.

It has always perplexed me that Apple refuses to allow FLAC files in iTunes. Even more perplexing is that Apple fails to have have their own dvdmedia files (that play in their own dvd player software) to work with iTunes.

Apple could make a world of customers very happy if they would correct those omissions.
Works Well, (What's this?) Have had this for 3 days now and am very happy with it. The first thing I did after setting up was to download the firmware update. Sound quality is very good using the optical output - especially if you use lossless material like FLAC. Through the optical output I would say sound coloration character is "neutral". I have read reviews elsewhere that say sound quality was uneven while using the analog outs. My past experience with Marantz leads me to believe that break in of at least a hundred hours is necessary for those type of analog output stages to "flatten up. I tested the unit with 320 AAC files, 24 bit 96 khz FLAC, and WAV files and very good sound was obtained. Internet radio is the best sounding of any unit I have ever used. I am foremost a fan of vinyl but I can truly say this unit makes digital files "listenable". Much better sound then I expected . I hear no evidence of fatique at all.

I went ahead and purchased the 50 buck firmware upgrade to enable airplay functionality with Apple Ipod, Itunes, iPad products and tested it all tonight. Very satisfying. I connected an iPod to the unit and that also worked very well.In conclusion I feel the unit is worth the price and recommend it.

So what are the "cons'? One I can think of is that it is outrageous that Marantz does not provide the Airplay firmware upgrade free of charge to people buying the product today. The other things I dislike is that the unit will not decode 24 bit 192Khz FLAC files or Apple Lossless ones. You are however able to play Apple Lossless files stored in Itunes on your computer or iOS devices via Airplay and sound quality is excellent.

Is this unit for the rabid audiophile with a 100k system? Probably not.
Seems strange but no Apple Lossless support??, This new piece from Marantz looks very nice and could be a serious competitor for Peachtree audio, but I'm not sure if I even want to order one if I'll have to box it up and return it right away. Here's why: According to the specs, the unit supports WMA, MP3, MPEG4, AAC, WAV, and FLAC. What's missing here Marantz,Inc.?? That's right- Apple Lossless!

It would seem to me that if you are going to have a direct USB input with an iPod digital interface, you better understand that people serious about music are going to rip their music in a lossless format. I know FLAC is a "lossless" format, but it's not supported by Apple.
Very Pleased - Fantastic Sound, (What's this?) I have had my eye on the NA7004 for quite some time. I purchased the NA7004 first and foremost to be used as a DAC (and second as a network audio player), and I am very pleased with it. The sounds is excellent...the DAC circuitry within the machine is from some of Marantz's much more expensive equipment which was limited edition and now sold out (KI Series). As another reviewer mentioned, break-in is important. I let it run with CD's on repeat and and amplifier off for 3 days straight.

M-Audio, Avid Vocal Studio (Catalog Category: Musical Solutions / Microphones)

A good choice for the recording-studio-on-a-budget crowd!, I bought this product primarily because of the microphone that comes with it, hoping to do some better quality recordings without the hassle (or expense) of having to buy the whole Mic/preamp/interface set, and after owning it for a while I can't complain.

The mic is good for what it says it is good for. It is good for recording vocals and a low to medium-high volume. It also works well for acoustic instruments (guitar, uke, Banjo...) If your intention is to record something extremely loud, such as a guitar/bass amp, this microphone does not perform well in that environment as it clips REALLY BADLY. It's not as good as some of the other mic's I have heard, but for the price it is a great value. Nothing you could get at this price range can come close to this, aside from maybe the Blue Snowball, which I have 0 experience with but have only heard good things about.

As an ambient mic recording a room full of people this mic works stunningly well. It is very sensitive and has very minimal buzz or hum, all of the buzz or hum can be easily equalized out. It is very sensitive to pops such as those resulting from the P or the B sound at the beginning of a word, and it does not come with a pop filter in the set which would have been nice but there are ones for like 20 dollars at guitar center... or you can use the 'ol stretched pantyhose over a coat hanger wire trick and that works well too.

Mic response is pretty bassy, and is very susceptible to the proximity effect. When you are right up to this microphone, any noise you make will rumble out of your speakers. This is good for some thing but it is annoying at other times. You need to make sure the singer/player stays relatively the same distance from the mic at all times, else their voice will change slightly in the recording.

The mic itself is very sturdy feeling my klutzy friends have dropped it, knocked it over and (in a weird case I would rather not explain) thrown it around... and it still preforms the same as it did when it was new. Though I would not recommend being rough with it intentionally.

The built in monitoring only works right in the included Pro Tools. All other DAW's treat it as just another audio interface, which works but is not ideal.
