Great sound, (What's this?) A bit of big footprint for the nightstand, but the sound is really good for such a small unit. I go to bed listening to my ipod everynight now (if the wife isn't asleep yet). The only feature missing is a 2-5-7 setting on the alarm. I had that on the previous alarm clock and really liked it.
Great Product says I, It has a great design and really saves space. The sound is amazing and its various music features opens up new options that standard alarm clocks dont offer. The down side is that the screen has some contrast issues. I cannot see the numbers when i set my alarm clock time if i am a foot away from it looking down. Also, the battery backup doesnt really backup the system. If the power goes out, the clock shuts off, but when power is restored, the correct time is saved. It would be nicer if the clock remained on.All in all, i like this product way too much to worry about the little things.

Ripstyles Standard CD Ripping Service (200 CDs Converted to Digital By Ripstyles)

Not a smooth operation. Frustrating experience., Let me start by saying that I think ripping services are well worth the money if they work. If I can pay someone $200-300 (pick your price point and service) to put my 200 or so CDs on my hard drive with album labels, various compression formats, etc. I think that would be fantastic. It's well worth it to me.

Ripstyles completely failed to live up to its advertised service to do it.

- The web site advertised 5-10 business days from receipt to return an average order. 5 weeks later I was annoyed to be still trading email with them to find out when it would ship.
- My original order had explicit instructions to return ship the CDs to a new address since I moved from the pickup address. It was ignored, and my 200+ CDs shipped back to a condo building 500 miles away from where I live. Getting this straightened out and wondering where a $2000 collection might disappear was a headache
- 24 of the CDs were returned as 'unreadable' despite the fact that they read in every computer drive and dedicated CD/DVD player I have
- The NIB hard drive I shipped with the CDs was returned with a virus on it.

Really, ripstyles? How can you be so screwed up that all this happens in one order?

If you want your CDs ripped, ask someone else to do it, not Ripstyles.

UPDATE:

In retrospect I should balance this review with what Ripstyles has done right:

- They did communicate well after I notified them the shipping address was wrong (though not as much on the initial delay in ripping)
- They did spend time tracking down my CDs at the wrong location and get them shipped to me
- Once things really went off the rails the issue was raised to the company president who handled things who handled things from there
- They have promised to live up to their '100% satisfaction guarantee' and refund the fee

NOTE: President is Rob Hunter, may have influenced the other reviewers at this site.

I will give an additional star (now 2) for handling the problems.

Remote is useless, (What's this?) The remote did not work out of the box. I returned the dock to Amazon only to find the remote did not work on the replacement unit either. I'm stuck deciding if I should keep the item and use it without a remote or return it a second time in search of a pricier unit that might function as described. Disappointed. I'm not sure how these companies survive. Cleary they are failing in the quality control department. According to the other reviewers, I'm certainly not the only person to have this issue with this item's remote.
Only good for Ipod, (What's this?) This is a good idea. However you don't get what on the ads, this is not made for Iphone. It works good with ipod only.

Interferes with radio reception, (What's this?) Despite claims to the contrary this product is not optimized for use with an iPhone. The phone displays a warning when plugged into the device and causes considerable static on the high quality Bose radio it is connected to. When the Bose is in the radio mode the accessory cable must be disconnected to stop static. Same results with both a 3g and a 4S. Very annoying and outweighs the fact that the device performs as advertised otherwise.
Cheap, simple, works!, (What's this?) Bought this for $25. Came quickly and works well. I used to have a Kensington that I used with my iPod and it was great, but it would not charge my 3G iPhone. Once I upgraded to the 4GS, I wanted to leave my iPhone at the stereo all the time, so wanted it to be able to charge. Although a message pops up that it is not compatible with my device, it charged anyway and the sound is great. Much better than using the headphone jack. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because of the fact it does indicate that it is compatible and the remote is not so great (expected). I like the black color better than the white Kensington.
Works fine, just a bit difficult to engage ipod, (What's this?) charges my ipod touch fine, sound quality to hifi system is good, only negative is that I often struggle to slot the ipod into the connector.

Average, (What's this?) This product is functional. The connection between the ipod and dock is poor. The ipod needs to be seated just right to work.
Good Product, Great customer service!, (What's this?) I will start by telling you that I like this product, but I LOVE the customer service.
The product came quickly and was packaged nicely. There were no instructions included, but thankfully it is a really straightforward installation. The sound quality is great, and the unit has a quality feel to it. My one issue was that the remote control did not work with my iPhone 4. After contacting the company, I had a C.S. rep. call me back right away, and then someone from their tech. dept. followed up later that same day. They sent me a new remote, which arrived two days later, and that remote did work. The only caveat is that the remote has a pretty short range, so don't think that it will work from across the room because it probably won't. Also, if you have a phone or iPod with a larger case, you may have to take it off before it will fit into the dock. 4 stars only because of the short range.
I would have no problem recommending this unit to anyone.

Logitech Wireless Music System for PC

Works great on XP, but not Vista or W7, I have had zero problems with this and Windows XP. The sound is great and I have no interference with anything else. It should be noted that this does not work at all with Vista or Windows 7, so it is somewhat obsolete.
Logitech Wireless Music System, A number of excellent reviews have been written regarding this product which seems to now be out of production. I will not repeat what has been written. I do wish to add a couple of points.

Having taken delivery of a unit last week, I have been using it to stream sound (Internet Radio, as well as mp3 files on the upstairs computer) (XP Pro) to the home theater receiver in the downstairs family room. Even with 2.4 GHZ cordless phone and wireless Internet throughout the house - it works fine.

The real surprise is that I have an old Sony with Windows ME. I plugged the transmitter in to one of it's USB ports, and it immediately streamed the music.

I have the software installed on the XP but not on the ME machine. It is quite simple to just pull the USB cord out of the Sony if I wish to have the sound coming from the computer's speakers.
Older technology, but does what it was made to do!, Let me start off by saying that I have several Logitech devices in my home. I have the DiNovo Edge wireless keyboard, a wireless trackman trackball, a marble mouse trackball for my computer at work, and I have this neat little device (the wireless music system)that came out in my time of need.
I first bought this about 5 or 6 years ago when I wanted to play my downloaded music on my stereo system in my living room without having to burn it to a CD first. It worked great for a while, until it started to show it's age and Logitech stopped supporting the software about 2 or 3 years ago. I had to download some "wireless keyboard support" plug-in for Winamp in order to be able to use the remote with that program. The only reason it gets a rating of 4 instead of five is because I noticed how outdated this was when I set up my first wireless network in my home. I believe the signal from my wireless router has a tendency to interfere with this unit, causing the music to frequently cut out. However, it may only be because of the distance between the transmitter and receiver, and that there is a wall or two in the way. Other than that, this is a great little system to have.
Logitech has since then come out with the Wireless DJ system, and more recently, the Squeezebox.
Works with most Bluetooth Transmitters / iPhone/iPod Touch, Logitech has not updated the software for the wireless bluetooth transmitter in a while, but the receiver works great as a wireless audio receiver with most bluetooth devices like phones, or the iPod touch.

You just hold down the receivers "Connect" button for 4 seconds to make it discoverable (flashes red/blue), then discover it with your bluetooth device (I use my iPod Touch). The connection code is "0000" (Zeros). You lose the remote control functionality on the receiver...but of course, if you have an iPhone in your hand you do not need it.
Cheap way to get music from PC to Real stereo system, (What's this?) I like it. Plug the box into your amp using stereo cables, stick USB stick into your PC (after adding the drivers as part of the install), change your music source to Logitech, and start playing, its pretty basic. The only thing that is a slight pain is when you don't want to use the stereo, you typically have to manually change the music source, so you kep doing that back and forth. I broke the part that sticks into the USB on the PC (I had it stuck in directly and it sticks out like a flash drive, so I knocked it while moving the PC).

Great until it stops completely and won't come back to life, Six months of great, set up is super easy....and then, with no changes to the PC or the setup around it, it just refuses to work. A simple point-to-point wireless connection with no software required, and suddenly it is useless. Logitech customer support might as well not exist for all the help they provided.
Exactly what I imagined!!!, This product works exactly what I had envisioned when I imagined what it would be like to hear all my computer media through my house sound system. I now get full music sound quality from every room in my house with any internet radio station I choose, and from my iTunes library which offers more options and is way more flexible than my iPod. Needless to say, I am extremely happy with this purchase.
Good product but not perfect, (What's this?) I bought the PC version of this and have been using it for about 2-3 weeks. Overall audio quality is good, however sometimes the signal is interrupted for some reason. Reviews on line say that other Blue-tooth and wireless products may interfere with the signal (like cordless phones, wireless internet). The aspect I do not like is that the remote is picky, you have to be right in front of the IR receiver to make it work, and that the receiver must be connected to a amp if you want to use speakers. Headphones do not require an amp. Funny thing is that I bought the PC USB transmitter and receiver including the remote for 150 from here, and then bought an additional receiver and transmitter from ebay for $15. 10% of the price.
greatest purchase Ive made, (What's this?) I purchased the music anywhere just when it came out at $48 a year ago. I have plugged it in three different pcs and it has worked flawlessly always. I have tried to get another but it seems out of production and if there is one its too expensive now.

Excellent Sound Card, (What's this?) I have owned this particular sound card for about 5 years now. I use it on my Toshiba Satellite laptop to play amplified music. This is an extremely good sound card that is not too difficult to use. I run this card with my Virtual DJ Pro program to mix my music. I also own a pair of 15" JBL EON speakers that sound great with this card. For those of us that can't blast the speakers late at night, I use a set of Sony MDR-V700 headphones that can make your ears hurt with the amount of power coming from this card (save your hearing).
Convenient Excellent Sound, If you ever use your laptop as a music listening source-- whether through head/ear-phones, hooked up to a stereo, or even through crappy desktop speakers, this soundcard makes a HUGE difference. For those who enjoy listening to music and like the convenience of being able to plug your laptop into a home stereo amp or receiver or use decent headphones, this product really is excellent and well worth it. It easily makes your music files sound as good or better than the output from a dedicated CD player, and is MUCH better than the output from an ipod or other portable mp3 player.
PCMCIA slot connection, This is a great gadget, but PCMCIA is not a common slot connection anymore. If you have a laptop with a PCMCIA slot, it can be a great deal, but most of the laptops are having the expresscard slot now, which makes you have to buy the adptor PCMCIA to expresscard, consequently double the final price of your purchase. I've bought a echo dj, but now it is useless without the adaptor.
Awesome :-), Firstly, don't be turned off seeing that very few people have rated this product. The truth is that, if you look around for a PCMCI audio card in audiophile sites and stores, you will see this product reviewed exceptionally well. The average Joe only goes for the commercial hype and don't know of any venerable professional audiophile products. Let me put one thing straight. If you decide to pay for this product, you better be having some good quality headphone (and i don't mean a Bose :-).. for all those who think Boss is any good..) like Grado, some higher end Sennhieser, Koss, Etymotics, Sure, etc. Because if you don't, you may be disappointed with this sound card. The analogy is if you have a bad eyesight and you are viewing a girl from 20 feet, it wouldn't matter if she got pimples on her face or not, you won't make any difference. On the other hand, if you have a good eyesight, you will notice the difference. Same goes here, if you sport a cheap headphone, don't waste your money on any high end audio gear. <<<<<< Sound Quality >>>>>>: The first thing you will notice when you play an mp3 is the well improved Bass, near pristine high ends. A few hours with the Indigo io and you'll hate to listen to anything without it.
Not so excellent, Although this item has received a lot of good reviews, I don't find any of its advantages compared with my T61 integrated sound card (SOUNDMAX). The possible reason is that it's a pretty old product and the integrated laptop sound cards sucked a few years ago. However, nowadays, the laoptop integrated sound card has made a good progress.

I only want to say that it's not worth today to spend more than $100 to get a PCMCIA sound card which isn't better than your internal one.

DJ Pauly, What an excellent product. It's intuitive, not too combersome and it really makes a difference in the way mobile PC sound plays into external audio equipment. I like the analog volume control, it's really easy to adjust the output level. Other cards have a GUI that is not as easy to use or locate on the fly. As far as the performance, it's definately the best I have used so far.
