Ripstyles completely failed to live up to its advertised service to do it.
- The web site advertised 5-10 business days from receipt to return an average order. 5 weeks later I was annoyed to be still trading email with them to find out when it would ship.
- My original order had explicit instructions to return ship the CDs to a new address since I moved from the pickup address. It was ignored, and my 200+ CDs shipped back to a condo building 500 miles away from where I live. Getting this straightened out and wondering where a $2000 collection might disappear was a headache
- 24 of the CDs were returned as 'unreadable' despite the fact that they read in every computer drive and dedicated CD/DVD player I have
- The NIB hard drive I shipped with the CDs was returned with a virus on it.
Really, ripstyles? How can you be so screwed up that all this happens in one order?
If you want your CDs ripped, ask someone else to do it, not Ripstyles.
UPDATE:
In retrospect I should balance this review with what Ripstyles has done right:
- They did communicate well after I notified them the shipping address was wrong (though not as much on the initial delay in ripping)
- They did spend time tracking down my CDs at the wrong location and get them shipped to me
- Once things really went off the rails the issue was raised to the company president who handled things who handled things from there
- They have promised to live up to their '100% satisfaction guarantee' and refund the fee
NOTE: President is Rob Hunter, may have influenced the other reviewers at this site.
I will give an additional star (now 2) for handling the problems.
